As the case is rather long the reader may read only selected parts of it, for example certain methods or procedures at a time. In the case the Web-HIPRE software is used.

The case presents the car selection problem in a group decision-making context and illustrates how value trees can be used to support the decision-making. In the case Web-HIPRE is used. The reader should be familiar with the value tree basics.

The Car selection case applies imprecise preference statements and presents an application for interval value trees. In the case the PRIME Decisions software is used. The student is assumed to be familiar with the topics presented in the Job selection case and the corresponding theory parts.
