  • sub-objectives under an objective, or
  • attributes under an objective, or
  • alternatives with respect to a given attribute

• Store preference ratios in a comparison matrix

  • for every i and j, give rij, the ratio ofimportance between the ith and jthobjective (or attribute, or alternative)
  • Assign A(i,j) = rij
